Recent winning trades below

Thursday  We had a really excellent day while the market pulled back as we had shorts ready and waiting on the watch list.  We had a couple of our mechanical trading stocks triggered long positions as they are short ETFs - SRS and FAZ gave great gains and no thought was needed.  From our watch list we had one new long - RDEA and 5 new shorts that all gave profits. VCLK, BHI, CNX, EOG and WMT.  That is 8 profitable new trades on a big down day for the markets - super! Have a great holiday weekend.

VCLK short

CNX Short

Wednesday Market still range bound do neither side getting any action for more than a day. Thursday the monthly jobs report so could move the market. Today we had some nice moves for some good gains - One short SCHN and four new longs - ATSG, CKP, MRX and MGI.

MGI long

CKP long

Tuesday Four months in a row have closed up even though the Dow at least has not made any overall gains since May. Two more days to go this week and hope it stays in line with the historical bias which is to end the week up. We had three new buys today -  CHLN ,MAPP , EBF.

Monday Window dressing has probably run its course  but they would like it to hold near its highs.  History calls this week a good chance of closing on the upside and the last day of the trading week is Thursday. We had five new buys today from our watch list.   GPI, NCS, GNW, CXW and GSS. (NCS was a gap up so we will leave on the list as it may trigger again)

Friday A Russell rebalancing day so a lot of very high volume small caps ran to break out levels on the forced buying. Maybe a few will actually break out. We had a great day with 7 new buys from our wtch list.  OSIS, APAR, SHFL, GMCR, KIRK, CVGI, and CAR . Have a super summer weekend!

KIRK long

Thursday A good start to end of quarter Window Dressing and hope it continues a few days. We had a few nice break outs and good mechanical trades also. The new buys included.  DELL, MNTA and HSP.  Please read Turning David into a Goliah an article featuring CEO of AWSR.

MNTA long

HSP long

Wednesday A rally in the morning then a pullback later. It was the techs day today as Oracle beat and upped their guidance. We had two new busy but they did not move too much yet. FPL and LMDIA.

Tuesday A bland day though the momentum stocks continued pull backs. We are one day close to a relief rally start.

Monday First - as above read America West Resources -  Turning David into a Goliath from Coal People Magazine May 2009 . Use link to read about CEO of AWSR  The Markets today finally picked up speed to the downside as big players and heavy hitter slammed many issues. We show several charts in tonight's video. SWN gapped down and MTL short side triggered.

Friday The Nasdaq had been underperforming lately but today it came back and did the best. Nasdaq 100 +1.2%. ..S&P Midcap 400 +0.5%. ..Russell 2000 +0.6%  We had two new buys HPQ and TPX. There are a lot of good looking set ups for next week and as we near the nd of the quarter there may be some fund managers who wish to end it on a high note. Have a great weekend and happy Father's day.

HPQ long

Thursday General market momentum is not as it has been but we had 9 stocks trigger today but we will leave BKH and RSYS unmarked as they moved very little so may run again . The new longs were EW, WLP, AMLN and ALXN plus new shorts LVS, KERX and LEA.

WLP long

ALXN Long

Wednesday The dip buyers were sure not impressive today and the weak rally lost its ground later in the day. Nasdaq 100 outperformed and the  biotechs did well. We had 4 new shorts today ED, ARG, SOHU and LXK while one long GILD.

Tuesday The pullback continues but still holding broader support. We had two new short trigger today. BKE and FSLR.

FSLR Short

Monday A lager pullback than we have had in a month but not too much volume. Looks like the dip buyers at least are not running in so soon. We may set up for a reversal later in the week. Today we had little new action though SHLM gapped up on the open so will be worth watching as it pulled back.

Friday Uneventful - for the day on a tight range week but next week we think will  greater volatility. Have a great weekend!

Thursday The Dow was over its 200-day EMA for a while today but pulled back into the usual range. With options expiration next week some will try to keep it up. We had ESLR gapped up on the open but we had  CVGI as a new long and UAUA a short.

Wednesday We had the very usual last hour rally from program traders but one day that will not work and then all those who bought in front of them to ride the move will have to scramble to get out and that may break the uptrend at least short term. The Dow still sits just under the200-day EMA.

Tuesday A market consolidation day  but we had many good trades.  DELL gapped up on the open and regular break outs from the watch list included CSCO, CY, MOT, SYMC and GT.

CY long

Monday ..

Friday 25 from our watch list this week triggered or gapped up over our buy price. Super week and market stayed strong though today commodities pulled back as the dollar rose. We had two new longs, V and IR and one new short NPBC. Have a great weekend.

Thursday Almost back to the highs of the week. We had two news buys today from the watch list. CBS and KIM.

Wednesday The US Dollar rallied 1.4% today so commodities pulled back. The markets also pulled back but has a last hour rally. Still inn bull mode...so far.

Tuesday The market continued up today though volume is not strong. We trade what the charts show so for the time it is still longs though a pullback this week is expected. One new buy today was  AA,

AA long

Monday Super day for stocks as we had 6 from our watch list gap up so only trade would be using 15-min rule. IBM, AKS, TAN, NWL, PTY and VAR.  However - we also had  13 new break out buys RJA, ACXM, AMKR, AMZN, ARCC, LSI, MEE, MIDD, OSK, PWAV, NVTL, KG and STX. Now market is overbought so expect a pullback.

RJA long

AMZN long

STX long

Friday (There was no Friday video) Good market today with breadth of more than 2 to1 positive. We had 3 new break out buys STT, ICE, MS and from yesterday SWN. We also had some gap ups- CLF, KGC and NEM. Have a great weekend.

STT long

Wednesday The market was doing pretty well but as the bond market weakened the equity market followed lower. Of the 6 stocks we added to the watch list yesterday - 5 of them hit their buys points today. Many also gave back some  gais as the market pulled back. CHS, CIT, CVI, GPS, IGT, ITUB, MRVL, TSM and ODP.

CHS stock long

Tuesday Nice rally to start the new week. There is 3 more days in the month so some window dressing may be tried to keep us up until next week. We had 5 stocks from the watch list hit buys points today. TWTC, GRA, SIGM, MDU and ESL.

Friday Pre holiday light volume trading and while there was some good small cap action mostly it was metals that ran some more today.  The ones we had on the watch list of silver and gold gapped up this morning.  IAG, AGT and SLV. Have a great weekend!

IAG gold long

Thursday We got our pullback to support and then the bounce. Friday will be light trading and maybe a good pre-holiday mood?? One short trigged today - GRMN.

Wednesday A possible double top on the Dow and others so the mid month lows need to hold far rally to sty in place. Today only two new stocks hit buy points.   AMD and MON.

Tuesday The markets stayed up for most of the day but the last hour brought in some selling. We had a great day with 8 watch list stocks hitting buy points.  ARM, BIDU, BG, IMA, LEAP and LIFE, SYNA and TECH.

Monday A nice rally Monday. Even if it was a log of short covering in general, there was plenty of buying in individual stocks as we had 6 watch list stocks hit their buy points and make nice profits. UTSI, SAFM, LXU, COMS, CRDN and VPRT.

VPRT Long and strong

UTSI Long

Thursday The market bounced a bit to relieve some oversold condition. We had one big winner today -  MED.

MED Long and strong

Wednesday The market is acting as expected and we had 4 nice shorts today.  CRM, APA, BIG and MTB.

MTB Short

Tuesday A dip and buyers came in but a non aggressive day. We had one watch list stock gap up ATSG and 4 more hit their buy points but they did not run a lot as the market is not so volatile this week. The 4 were: NTII, MOVE, ABX and QLTI.

ABX gold Long

Monday A bland day for the indices as they pulled back a bit though the Dow did drop under the trend line on the 60-minute chart in the last hour. We had one short trigger -- VFC.

VFC Short

Friday Another good market week as May begins. Today we had one new buy CREE as DRYS gapped up just over our buy price on the open. Because of travel this page may not be updated until next weekend but we may make some blog posts and hope you all make some posts also. Will see you in the chat room. Have a great weekend.

Thursday Has the market hit a short term or longer term top or will we have more to come next week? Lets see how Friday goes as we begin a new month. We had a couple of stocks gap up on the open and these four were new buys: BX, NVE, ZZ and AZO.

ZZ Long

Wednesday A very solid day today with most sectors up. Maybe some window dressing for end of month. We had a whopping 13 new watch list buys today - a fantastic day!   ACXM, A, CBEY, CNX, ECPG, GS, NCI, TSRA, SNX ABMD FSLR, CSQ and NWL. Nice  one below...

ECPG Long

NCI Long

Tuesday Not much to say. Market still holding with is good but it needs to break up of it could break down from its own weight. Maybe we can see some end of month widow dressing? Two new buys today - ESRX and CSCO.

Monday Market charts showing some negative divergence so a caution flag is all so far. Today was a bit weak but the swine flu can make all a bit nervous. We did have new buys today from the watch list.  DEP, IMA, USU and DNDN.

IMA Long

Friday We ended the week great - back up near the highs. That means resistance of course but that is next week. For today we had 10 new long side triggers from our watch list so a lot of profits to go around. Have a great weekend - today's new buys: ACO, ENER, CKR, CAT, APH, MWW, CIB, CDE, WHR and STEC. Check the trade record for more.

ACO Long

Thursday Quiet day but bullish once again in general.

Wednesday Market was up then down but we had a good break out day. Tomorrow more earnings and we see how market liked Ebay and Apple. today's new buys were- BKS, CPA, ENS, FINL and IP.

BKS Long

Tuesday The indices went to support and put in perfectly nice bounces which may lead to a return to the highs but much may depend on earnings. Tomorrow Apple reports and that could move tech either way. We had no new buys today but some former buys like SGK and PCM that had pulled back toward the buy points made good moves again which is bullish.

SGK Long

Monday The pullback had participation from most stocks today but after many weeks of gains it is not unusual.

Friday Enjoy the good times while they are here. Today we had 7 more winners as they triggered from the watch list. ABO, RAIL, GSX, KBR, FRP, SGK and WNR. The profits are pouring in also as CAR and ENT added more double digit gains today.

KBR Long

FRP Long

Thursday Yesterday we wrote that the bulls are still in charge and today they charged. We had 10  stocks from the watch list triggered as buys and there were plenty of profits today. XRX, AVT, IRC, PANL, LKQX, CTASAAPCAR, ENT and HYB. Look at this up 39%! Beautiful.

CARS Long

Wednesday The bulls are still in charge of the market and dips are being bought. We will see if that remains the case after morning earnings reports. This is options expiration week so even more unpredictable. Had only one new trigger today MPW but three are about 7 on the watch list that are close to a break out.

Tuesday Kind of a sell the news day when Goldman Sachs reported a good quarter. Fine for a pullback anyway and plenty more earnings to come. INTC reported after the close with better earnings and words of encouragement for better tech sales to follow. Only VQ made a quick move up today.

Monday Not much to say - a consolidati0on day as earnings will pick up later in the week. We had 3 new long trigger today. GE, DDS and PMC.

Thursday Super day today. The rally started in March on bank news from Citi and today we had more bank news so a tip off to go long. We could not have been better prepared as we had so many picks just on the edge of break out and the numbers speak for themselves. The 15 brand new break outs were -EPIC, SLAB, WGOV, AMED. BCSI, BR, LNG, CR, DDR, APP, ERES, FOSL, JCOM, OEH, UYG. We also had 8 stocks that gapped up on the open -BG AIR, DRC, BGC, HOS, ITWO, RSX and PLZ. Have a super long weekend!

JCOM Long

FOSL Long

Wednesday Had a lift at the close and with one more day of trading this week volume will be thinning in the afternoon Thursday. We have a lot of stocks that are very close to possible break outs right now but they are being wimps so need a spark to get going. Today as an example  CRM hit the buy point and ran up about 30 cents but then was too weak and pulled back, It may run another day.

CRM Long

Tuesday A day of more pullback and tech stocks were hit the hardest as they had more profits to take. Still a lot of good looking charts so we will wait for them to come around again.

Monday A mild day with some minor pullbacks and a few continuations. Not much to report tonight but many charts still look like long side opportunities.

Friday A mild day as not enough of a pullback to please those who wanted to buy in a bit lower. After our great day yesterday we still had very good plays today with 4 new ones - XIDE and GIL plus ones that actually started yesterday DAL and DAR. Have a great weekend.

XIDE Long

GIL LongTh

Nasdaq volume was higher than it has been so many months. We had these 9 new buys plus a few more we are leaving unchanged on the list as we think they will move again.

CXO, GRA, EPIC, FLEX, PX, SSD, SWKS, SUF and TSS.

FLEX Long

Wednesday Today we had 3 nice new longs- not hard to get into and worked out well. Tomorrow is FASB meeting on mark-to-market accounting rules so could get volatile. Today's new longs: CREE, SYNA and CSIQ.

CSIQ Long

Tuesday Good rally for the end of the quarter but profit takes came in late in the day so put in question if this can continue up. The mark-to-market decision will be soon and that may spark financials again - or not as it may be priced in?

Monday The indices pulled back to their 38.2% retraces from the March 9th lows so maybe one day to try of  end of quarter window dressing? Or will the bears win out. Even with the mostly down market we had two stocks hit their buy points and make profits. of the DLTR and ANV.

DLTR Long

Thursday The nearing end of the quarter and hope is keeping the market heading up for now and we had 10 new buys from the watch list today- that is 25 for the week. APH, AUO, DKS, GRMN, HMA, PTIE, AMTD, PML, THRX. and BRKS.

HMA Long

YHNX Long

Wednesday Nice reversal this afternoon after the dip. Four trading days until the end of the quarter and even though we earlier expected a larger pullback they may be able to hold it up 'till then. We had two new buys today - actually a couple of other that moved only pennies. BGC and RZ.

Tuesday Yesterday's high could not be taken out so a pullback came instead. This may be the start of some deeper pullback as the volume going up was light - though so was today. The end of the quarter window dressing may still have a play though. We had a couple of new trades today - PALM and FIG at the high today was up over 40%.

FIG Long

Monday Big rally and short covering on lower than normal volume. Over extended now so maybe a turn-around-Tuesday in reverse? Big day for us too as we had 11 new watch list buys. All of them gave us profits. AAPL, MTB, ENS, WDC, GOOG, CSC, LUK, SWHC, NCMI, NSIT and DHI.

WTB Long

GOOG Long

Friday The correction continues but it was a very good week with 18 new trades. Have a great weekend and welcome spring.

Thursday FCSX is one we noticed today at about $1.85 so posted it in the chat room for a buy over $1.85. Volume was light. We also sent out a Tweet - from Twitter and as you see it closed up about 13% from the buy point. If you would like to get our Tweets - click on blue Twitter link image on the top right, of this page, sign up for Twitter and click Follow on our page there.

FCSX Long

Wednesday We had 10 New break outs today and all made nice profits  - that is 17 in two days! ADSK, COF, CTS, CMI, CYBS, SPW, WCC, MYL, IART, and GS.  The markets really are extended and S&P 500 at multiple resistances. Check the first day gains for the last ouple of weeks

ADSK Long

CTS Long

Tuesday Another bull run today as many did not want to be left behind. The low volume does not speak of big enthusiasm as of yet but enjoy the gains. We had seven new buys today and they all gave profits. SBUX, YHOO, ARRS, GLW, SVR, DJP, and AN.

GLW Long

ARRS Long

Monday A gap then the pullback started as it should. Now we will see how far it has to dip before the bulls come in. Hopefully they give it a little time.

Weekend oops - did not do a Friday closing note - well anyway was a great week and we begin again on a new week.

Thursday   Wow! today we had  13 new long entries from the watch list and all made profits. That is 31 trades for the week so far. We were really prepared well for this excepted rally. Today's new entries were: EAT, BR, EPIC, ILMN, ROST, TSM, CRUS, THQIARO, CRAY, TCLP, WFMI  and TSM.  Now expect a pullback.

ACF Long

ACF Long

ACF Long

Wednesday  The mark-to-market hearing is on Thursday so that may stir things up. Today was a very good consolidation day and we had 4 new buys. AMZN, SAFM, ACF and AU.

ACF Long

Tuesday  Turn-around-Tuesday in spades with up volume running at 90%/. This is how rallies begin. Cannot yet tell if this is the start of a multi week rally but things are in line for it to be. Nice Tuesday as we had  Nine - 9  new longs today - a super day. They were: NNI, SWKS, HTH, NTRI, MYGN, BBL, LQDT, SBAC and YTEC.

SBAC Long

SWKS Long

Monday  The market gave back most or all of its Friday gains but it was a good day for us as we had five stocks hit trades points. The new longs from the watch list that triggered today were NFLX and ASIA while the new shorts were CAI, CONN and PER.

ASIA Long

CAI Short

Friday  The market was down again but a late short covering rally brought at least the Dow, Russell 2000 and S&P 500 back to the plus side. Nasdaq 100 was weak today. We had one new long and it did well today - CYRV and 3 news shorts but some of then came back up later in the day. EV, MRO and CRA. Sunday is International Women's day so best wishes to all women and have a great weekend.

CYRV Long

Thursday  The financials really are continuing to fall and that is no help to the market. There will be a meeting of a congressional body next week to talk of the mark-to-market issue and if they lift it we may see a big run up. Today we had a new short trigger and give good gains -  BTO.

BTO Short

Wednesday  Today there was a rally but it pulled back in the afternoon. I do not think we had any new trades today but have added several more candidates to the watch list.

Tuesday  Today kind of a weak attempt at a rally but no turn around for us yet - the week is not over yet! We had one new long SWKS and two new short sell entries:  SOHU and CVS. Check the ERFW conference call on Wednesday March 4th - above.

Monday  Today saw over 2900 issues decline on the NYSE while under 200 advanced. In this kid of market we still had a great day with 2 longs and 4 very nice shorts. Check the blog as it shows the VIX which is now at a trend line from last Autumn. These wer today's new trades: APSG and TJX long and shorts were: MYGN, CPA, UTHR and VVUS.

VVUS Short

UTHR Short

Friday  The last trading day of February and no sign of window dressing this time. The S&P 500 is down 18.62 percent year to date. Things have not yet turned up,  however March is very often a decent month for the bulls and it starts next week. Have a great weekend.

Thursday  The markets did not hold the morning bounce but even so we have a new month coming and I am more short term bullish than bearish. On the long side today we had 2 new buys, KONG and GPI while one short AGU added to the  profitable day. All three were added to the watch  list yesterday.

KONG Long

AGU Short

Wednesday  Consolidation Wednesday after reversal yesterday and Obama yet again went on TV to spoil the afternoon rise. Maybe he could get a job instead of the TV spots. Anyway it is the end of the month window dressing time and it is possible that they will try a bit. At the moment until  the move from Tuesday is totally undone we expect the market to continue higher for some time. Today we had only one new long and it gave us $3 but gave much back later but if you take at leased partial profits quickly on good moved you do well. - DNA,

DNA Long

Tuesday  Many of us who write stock market newsletters are shaking their heads at many things that  Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said in testimony to the US Senate Banking Committee. One thing especially was, “no one understood the magnitude of the credit boom and bust.”  When will the government finally get rid of the Fed? It is a private corporation that was set up to keep a stable economy - duh - fire them . To say that no one understood the magnitude is beyond belief. How many times has Butch Colley written about this in the Newsletter - many times.  It has been documented and warned of for several  years so why do they not fire Bernanke as he has totally failed in his job. Ok - well we did get our Turn-around-Tuesday as the shorts left before the evening Obama talk and the technicals called for a bounce as we showed yesterday.

Monday Fantastic day - not for the markets in general but for ou watch list stocks.  We had three new buys that did very GRS and SMN while we had 6 profitable shorts: COMS, AMX, BNI, SIMG, PAAS and WSO. Maybe the market will run up before the close Tuesday and the Obama talk at night.

SMNLong

COMS Short

SIMG Short

Friday We had a pretty good reversal as at least the Dow November low was tested. The Nasdaq closed green for the day so this is bullish for the following week. We had one new short trigger and it gave good profits.  OXY.

Thursday The market bears could not drop the market yet again. It was a negative day and maybe it was only so mild because of options expiration on Friday. Pretty soon expect a pretty big move one way or the other. We had one new long trigger today and it did well. IVN.

IVN Long

Wednesday The market was indecisive today so can go either way but the charts still show more shorts than longs. We had 5 nice short sells today - all from ones added to the list yesterday.   CEDC, CRZO, AXB, KDN and ANDE.

CRZO Short

AXB Short

Tuesday There were a few over 200 gainers today on the NYSE but about 2900 losers. Through all of that we had winners on both sides. Our two new  shorts that triggered and made nice profits were:  ROCK and SWY while  SLW, and KRY  were the new longs.

 Rock Short
